How Do I Get My FSBO Property Listed on the MLS Without An Agent?

As a "for sale by owner" you now have the ability to list your property on the MLS, multiple listing service, without having an agent.

This is "the list" to be on if you want wide exposure and want agents to bring you buyers. It is a database that agents use to find homes for their buyers.

To get your property listed on the MLS, you will use a Flat Fee MLS listing service. You will be listed by a local agent on the MLS but you never pay a cent more unless you want that agent to handle paper work for you.

Although the agent takes no commission, the agent's name will usually appear on both the MLS listing and www.realtor.com listing. Many times these services get you listed on www.realtor.com also.

By being listed on the MLS you are still expected to pay a commission to a buyer's agent if and when they bring you a buyer. It is generally 2 to 3 percent and can be negotiated. You can split it with the buyer too.
